About the Author
Rebecca Horton

Rebecca Horton was born in the coal mining camps of West Virginia. With a career spanning over 46 years she started her first job as a 15-year old teen with the Marion County Extension Office 4H program. Prior to graduating at Fairmont State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, she was employed as Program Manager for a state-wide youth pilot program for the Governor’s Office of Economic and Community Development under then Governor John (Jay) D. Rockefeller, IV.
Now retired from a corporate career, her desire is to spend time on her passion for young people to help inspire the God given gifts and talents each may have. From 4-H programs to WV Baptist State Convention Youth President, to a guest speaker in Atlanta public schools classrooms, or serving as a mentor for high risk teenagers in alternative school programs, or being a high school charter school board member, or other volunteer opportunities in her community, she loves teens particularly and believes in their potential of unlimited opportunities for greatness.
Simply, she knows that one person can make a difference…and teens are our treasure and gift!
